Who is a Unani Tibb practitioner

image A Unani-Tibb practitioner is one who completed training at the University of the Western Cape School of Natural Medicine. Students who have completed a Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) from India, Bangladesh or Shri Lanka as well as a Bachelor of Eastern Medicine (BEMS) degree from Pakistan, also qualify for registration as a member of SATA.

Students, who have completed a Bachelor of Eastern Medicine (BEMS) degree from India, Bangladesh, or Sri Lanka as well as a Bachelor of Eastern Medicine (BEMS) degree from Pakistan, also qualify for registration as a member of SATA.

Resident South African Unani-Tibb practitioners, who have been in active practice for more than 10 years, have also been "grandfathered" for registration after completing a one year upgrading course in 2006.
