Primary focus areas

The primary focus of SATA is the promotion and support of Unani-Tibb practitioners and students registered with the Association, which acts in the interest of its members on all matters relating to Tibb.

Supports its members academically and in the business arena.

Represents its members in the challenges experienced in their scope of practice.

Recruits members to register with the AHPCSA – the controlling body for Standards of Practice.

Is committed to establishing working relationships with other related statutory bodies e.g South African Medical Association etc.

Supports academic institutions in which Tibb lecturers are placed.

Runs Continuous Professional Development programmes for its members to improve standards of practice as required by the AHPCSA.

Promotes ethical conduct of its members.

SATA promotes the Tibb profession with the Department of Health so that Unani-Tibb practitioners can be integrated into the public. sector.
